About Living Water Lutheran Church

Living Water Lutheran Church is a group of people who are hearing and responding to the call of Jesus Christ to be made eternally new by following Him.

We believe Jesus when He says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus is God “in flesh appearing.”

Though He lived a perfectly sinless life while on earth, He willingly died to take the punishment deserved by imperfect and sinful people, paying the price we would otherwise owe. Later, Jesus rose from the dead, an event that more than 500 early Christians staked their lives on proclaiming and never renounced.

Jesus did all of this because of God’s love for the whole human race and God’s desire to give every human being the chance to have the new and eternal life that God wants to give to all people.

As Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son [Jesus], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

To believe in Jesus and to have the life that He promises to those who believe in Him means to trust Jesus with our past, present, and future. When we turn from sin and receive forgiveness from God the Father through Jesus, He erases the power of our past, gives us His presence today, and assures us of life with God that never ends. It’s a life that we will experience in perfection in eternity, beyond death. Jesus saves us from sin, death, and futility. He gives believers in Him infinite hope and purpose that can’t even be destroyed at our death.

“I am the resurrection and the life,” Jesus says. “The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die” (John 11:25-26).

Because Jesus secures eternity for all who trust in Him, believers can also live this life with confidence and peace. We know that “…neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).

Today, we experience God’s love, counsel, and power in our lives through the family of God established by Jesus, the Church.

The Church of today is far from perfect. It’s composed of sinners seeking God’s grace, love, forgiveness, and guidance.

Living Water is a community of imperfect people, forgiven sinners who worship the God we know in Jesus Christ (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) together, who pray together, and who serve others together, so that people here in our local neighborhoods and around the world will know the new life that is only known through Jesus Christ. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Along our journey, God’s Holy Spirit brings God close to us through His inerrant Word, the fellowship of believers, Holy Baptism, and Holy Communion.

We who are part of Living Water sum up our congregation’s mission in three phrases. We reach up, worshiping, praising, and loving God. We reach in, strengthening each other in faith, love, prayer, and mutual accountability. We reach out, sharing Christ through our deeds and words, seeking to serve our neighbors–wherever they may be–in love and to share the good news of new and eternal life for all who believe in Jesus.

If you’re imperfect like us, want to know the God we meet in Jesus Christ better, and are open to the possibility of the new and eternal life of love and service to which Jesus calls His people, why not plan to worship with us, serve with us, or study and pray with us soon?
